Project details

MLP is the largest owner of warehouse real estate in Europe. In total, the company owns and manages more than 2 million square meters of space. It constantly caused lots of difficulties, as company staff had to keep records of leases, rented spaces, contract terms, and rates in scattered Excel spreadsheets. Moreover, preparing reports for boards of directors could take over a week.
MLP asked us to create an application that would allow them to manage all tenant data and get visual reports on the current state of affairs in general and for a particular industrial park. Thus, the idea was born to systematize all the data and the work of the administrators in one place. In addition, the company works with brokerage offices, and the timely provision of relevant information for brokers on the market affects the efficiency of leasing premises.

We started the project with an internal research, asking the key users of new application how they would like to use the system and what data they would like to use for their work. Then we created and systematized a list of management's requirements for analyzing and presenting data for decision-making and evaluating the rental situation.
After gathering all the information and describing all processes and functionality, we started prototyping and designing interfaces and pages based on the company's corporate identity. We did the programming on the Laravel platform.
Once the app was ready on the server, we started testing for bugs to make sure the app was working properly. Currently, we are maintaining the entire system and adapting the functionality to the upcoming needs of the users. The system is constantly being developed and updated to make it easier for the company's employees to work with large amounts of data.

The outcome

A new web app has made the work of the company's employees much easier and faster. Now it is no longer necessary to collect Excel spreadsheets and manually summarize the data in them for analysis. The app contains all the necessary information about all industrial parks, storage units and tenants and has an interactive map of each building with a marker for the space occupied by each tenant.
The app allows management to perform analysis to make effective decisions about vacant space, determine average prices for a given period, and view contract terms with tenants. The application also allows them to provide brokers with up-to-date information in just two clicks.
We had to manually record information about all our properties and tenants, and Excel spreadsheets became a nightmare for us. Thanks to the developed application, we now have to spend less time entering and analyzing data, and our managers get all the data they need to track tenants' rental status.
