SEO for manufacturers that brings in RFQs, not just traffic
Procurement managers check your site before they ask you for a price. Our manufacturing SEO services fix what keeps the site out of their search results, put the answers they look for on the page, and make sure Google and AI assistants have the facts to recommend you.
Who finds a manufacturing company, and what they check
Most requests to manufacturing companies come from B2B buyers and managers at other companies. They check prices and delivery terms, and they shortlist suppliers they may invite to a tender. Before they send a request, they want answers to plain commercial questions:
What you make, from what materials, and to what standards
Certifications and quality procedures
Minimum order quantities and production lead times
Where you ship and on what delivery terms
A starting price or a price range, when your business can give one
Where your plant is, and who to talk to
A site that answers these gets the request. A site that hides them in a PDF catalog, or doesn’t answer at all, loses the buyer to the next supplier in the search results. B2B sales cycles in manufacturing are long, and a buyer often comes back to the site several times before asking for a price.
Keyword research: the searches buyers actually run
Broad searches such as “manufacturing company” bring website traffic that rarely turns into a request. We start with keyword research: what buyers type for your products and capabilities, the search volume behind each query, and the search intent behind it. Qualified leads mostly come from long-tail keywords: a product with a specification, a process with a material, a certification, a location. Each of those gets its own page, and we prioritize the important pages that can bring requests first.
What we fix first on a manufacturing website
On manufacturer sites we’ve worked on, three things were broken most often:
Speed
Pages load slowly, especially on a phone. Buyers leave, and search engines rank a slow site lower.
Optimization
Titles, headings and page structure don’t match what buyers search for. Capabilities sit on one page or in a download, so Google can’t tell what you make.
The form
The request form errors on submit, asks the wrong questions, or sends to an inbox nobody watches. Every lost request is a quote you never got to send.
We fix these before anything else. Where we fixed them, the sites moved up in Google search.
Manufacturing SEO: what we put on the site so buyers and AI find you
Our job in search engine optimization for a manufacturing business is to make the site answer every question a buyer asks, and to make it easy for search engines to read. In practice that means:
A page for each product line and capability
With the specifications, materials, tolerances and certifications buyers search for.
Commercial answers on the page
Lead times, order quantities, delivery terms and, if you can share them, starting prices.
Addresses and contacts
In plain text, the same everywhere.
Structured data
Schema markup for your company, products and locations, so Google and AI assistants read the facts correctly.
Your company facts on outside sources
The same name, address, products and description across the industry directories, supplier databases and associations buyers and AI assistants check.
Clean technical SEO and a fast site
Indexing, internal links, Core Web Vitals.
Local SEO and your Google Business Profile
For manufacturers this is not optional. Buyers often want a supplier within driving distance, and the profile is what shows up on the map.
These are the facts AI assistants such as ChatGPT draw on when they recommend suppliers. Nobody can promise a place in AI answers; this is how you give them the facts to work with. Read how buyers already use ChatGPT to find suppliers
And the RFQ reaches the right person
SEO that brings visitors to a broken request path is wasted. On sites we build or look after, every request arrives in your CRM with the page and the source it came from, with an alert to the person who quotes. Each month you see which pages bring qualified requests and which searches bring visitors to those pages, not just traffic.
What you get each month
Our SEO services for manufacturers come in three plans. Every plan includes SEO and AI search: an audit and a 90-day roadmap first, then focused work each month and a clear monthly report.
SEO Essentials
One site, one Google Business Profile, one main location. One focused SEO sprint a month on your priority pages, local search for 3–5 priority themes, 5–7 essential business profiles, a review-request system, and an AI-search baseline.
SEO Growth
Broader search coverage for several product lines. Up to two SEO sprints a month, a content roadmap with SEO briefs, authority and citation work you approve, and ongoing AI-search monitoring. A monthly strategy review.
Custom SEO
Several plants or markets, large catalogs, migrations and complex sites. A custom SEO and AI-search program with its own scope and reporting.
SEO plans start with three months, then continue month to month with 30 days’ notice. They run on a site we look after on a Website Care plan, because SEO changes the live site. New pages, copywriting and development are quoted separately. Your accounts, analytics and data stay in your company’s name. Full plan details

You ask,
we answer
- How long does manufacturing SEO take?
The first 90 days go to the audit, the fixes that hold the site back, and the priority pages. Rankings move over months, not weeks, and how fast depends on your site, your competition and how much search demand there is for what you make. Every month you get a report on what changed and what we do next.
- Do I need a new website before SEO?
Not always. If the site is fast enough, works on a phone and has a working request form, we improve what you have. If speed, structure or the form are broken beyond a fix, we’ll tell you after the audit and quote the work separately.
- Is AI search a separate service?
No. Every SEO plan includes it: structured data, consistent company facts on outside sources, and a check of what AI assistants say about you. The Growth plan adds ongoing monitoring. No one can guarantee a place in AI answers, and we don’t.
- SEO or Google Ads (PPC) for a manufacturer?
Ads can bring requests from the first week and stop when you stop paying. SEO takes longer and keeps working. Many manufacturers start ads for a product line they need to sell now and build SEO for the long run. We do both.
- Are industrial directories enough?
They help: a listing with the same name, address and products is one of the outside sources we keep consistent. But a directory page shows a buyer many suppliers side by side, and in the AI answers we checked for supplier searches, the sources were mostly the suppliers’ own websites, not directory listings. Your site is where the request happens.
- Do you guarantee rankings?
No. Nobody honest can. We agree what to measure at the start: visibility for your priority searches, organic visits, calls and requests. You see it in a report every month.
